Since its inception in 2010, the B&O Yorkville Run has raised over $800,000 to support local charities including YWCA Toronto, Mount Sinai Hospital, Prostate Cancer Canada, Jesse Ketchum Public School, Victim Services Toronto, Wellspring, Canadian Cancer Society and Golden Rescue. We are very proud to be partnering with these great charities that will use the funds to benefit crucial programs and initiatives in our community.

Everyone who raises $500 or more will receive their choice of luxurious prizes from our sponsors and from high-end Yorkville boutiques.

PROSTATE CANCER CANADA

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer to affect Canadian men. In fact, during his lifetime, one in 8 men will be diagnosed with the disease.  In 2015, an estimated 4100 men died from prostate cancer.  In the past 20 years, death from prostate cancer has been reduced by 40%. When detected early, prostate cancer is over 90% treatable. The funds raised through the B&O Yorkville Run will support the Graduate Studentship in Prostate Cancer Research awards that will be given to a University of Toronto full-time postdoctoral student! Prostate Cancer Canada is the leading national foundation dedicated to the elimination of the disease through research, advocacy, education, support and awareness.    More here.

JESSE KETCHUM PUBLIC SCHOOL

We are home to many students whom have a household income below the TDSB average. Fundraising will allow us to provide a meaningful and engaging curriculum for all students including motivating field trips, extra-curricular activities and athletics. More here.

VICTIM SERVICES TORONTO

We provide support to victims of crime and sudden tragic events. Please support our new trauma dog program, where we will take dogs like Dandy, to interact with and bring joy and comfort to child victims. More here.

CANCER SUPPORT FOUNDATION is a network of community-based support centres offering programs and services that meet the emotional, social, practical and rehabilitation needs of people living with cancer, as well as for those who care for them. More here.

GOLDEN RESCUE

Since 1990, Golden Rescue™ has found safe, loving forever families for more than 2,600 surrendered, abandoned, unwanted or displaced Golden Retrievers. In addition to rescuing Goldens, we also pursue every opportunity to educate the public about responsible pet ownership and work collaboratively with other rescue groups when Goldens come into their care. At North York General Foundation, we raise and responsibly steward the funds that enable North York General Hospital to deliver exceptional health care to our diverse communities. PUPPY LOVE

Founded in 1993, Friends of Humane Society International (Friends of HSI) is a proud member of the Humane Society International (HSI) family of organizations, which together comprise one of the largest and most effective forces for animal protection in the world. Our primary mission is the protection of animals, the prevention of cruelty and relief of suffering to animals. Working with our affiliates, Friends of HSI helps animals in need of immediate assistance and prevents cruelty before it occurs. RED DOOR FAMILY SHELTER

For over 30 years The Red Door Family Shelter has been on the front lines of delivering support services to women and children fleeing violence, refugees, and homeless families in Toronto and the GTA.  Every year we help over 500 families by providing emergency shelter and supportive programs to help them heal and rebuild their lives.   More here.

MERRY GO ROUND

“Our mission is to help deserving yet financially disadvantaged kids access the technology and tools they need to reach their academic & personal potential” By giving technology and Internet access to kids, who might otherwise go without, we enable them to compete academically. We support educators and police officers to deliver programming that establishes healthy relationships with authority figures and encourages kids to positively impact their community.  More here.

GIRLS E-MENTORSHIP

Founded in 2012, Girls E-Mentorship (GEM) is a charitable organization that offers a mentorship program for female youth facing multiple barriers. Since its launch, GEM has served 100-plus female youth in Toronto, seeing them through to post-secondary pursuits, including university entry. GEM’s mission is to provide an innovative mentorship experience for high school girls facing multiple barriers. We equip our girls with the necessary skills to achieve their grown-up aspirations and build a diverse network of talented, vibrant women and girls to inspire and support one other.   More here.

PAWS

was established in 1972 by a group of animal lovers who wanted to assist animals in need. We proudly enforce a strict no-kill policy, while providing a unique free-roam shelter where homeless, abandoned and abused animals are given safe haven - indefinitely. ASSAULTED WOMEN'S HELPLINE

For over 30 years, the Assaulted Women’s Helpline has served as a free, anonymous and confidential 24-hour telephone and TTY (Deaf, deaf-blind and hard of hearing services) crisis telephone line to all women in the province of Ontario who have experienced any form of abuse. Join the Assaulted Women’s Helpline and our team to raise funds to support women in Ontario who have experienced abuse. On average we receive 50,000 calls per year from across the province and beyond seeking support and advocacy. More here.

Three To Be

Three to Be supports children with neurological disorders by investing in hope through research and the here and now needs of their families and communities. Three to Be learned early on that in order to affect the life of a child in the most significant way possible, efforts must focus on the whole child. Our children need advocates. They need us to be their voice and create a society that puts them first.   We are making change happen. What this community knows and continues to learn is propelling us forward. The Diaper Bank

helps fill a critical and otherwise unmet need for diapers amongst the most vulnerable in our community.  The Diaper Bank believes that clean diapers are a basic need for babies and their caregivers.  Yet 1 n 4 children in Toronto live in poverty and these families are at risk or have experienced diaper need.     More here.
