Welcome to My Personal Page,
I am participating in the 2018 B&O Yorkville Run to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
In 2018, I unfortunately had to live through the pain of losing my dad to cancer. In two short months, we went from being an indestructible family unit to losing the head and rock of our household. Nothing was worse than hearing a diagnosis and then finding out it was already too late. It was numbing seeing my father, my hero, the strongest man I know, fighting for his life the best he could. I know that he is in heaven now, but there are so many more people, who are living this nightmare that we went through.
I have participated in this run for several years, and every year I would randomly choose a charity to support. This year, it was not random. Cancer sucks! I hate the feeling of being helpless, so I have decided to make a change. What we can do is support the researchers, doctors, nurses, therapists, who are working tirelessly to prevent those cases like my dad's. Cancer is always changing and we need to get ahead of it.
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
